Genevieve Nnaji responds to disqualification of her ‘Lionheart’ movie at Oscars

As reported earlier by Gossips24.com, popular Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji ‘s first self-directed movie ‘Lion heart’ was submitted to the board of Oscars but was disqualified.

The disqualification according to sources was because the language spoken in the film was predominantly in English which contradicts the criteria for the Best International Feature Film category.

The Nollywood star has reacted after the official statement by the Oscar board confirmed her movie ‘Lion Heart’ disqualification.

Taking to social media, Genevieve made a series of post speaking to the shortfalls presented by the board of Oscars.

Genevieve posited that Lionheart is very much a Nigerian movie even though it was predominantly done in English and the movie represents the way Nigerians speak.

She added that English is the lingua in Nigeria as it brings together people in a country of over 500 languages.
