Ghanaian hiplife singer, Francesca Duncan Williams, also known as Sista Afia has inline with throngs of female artists shared what really constitutes to the success of a fellow female artist here in Ghana.
Many female artists have in the past expressed their gross dissatisfaction about the nature of the Ghanaian music industry.
According to the Queen Solomon of Ghana music, in an interview with Kwame Adjetia on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Ghana”, though a female musician in Ghana can work hard to achieve a solid brand in the industry, but luck is the major key to bring one’s desired objective.
It could be recalled that the ‘Jeje’ hit singer called on individuals and top record labels who are financially sound and serious about signing artists to look her way as she is broke.
Sista Afia further stated that ever since she made her big breakthrough in the music industry some years ago, every financial investment in her career is one that has come from the coffers of her family and the proceeds from the songs she has been releasing, a move which has not been easy on her.
The Boss of “Slay Queens” in the interview monitored by Gossips24.com, added that Ghanaian female artists need to put up more efforts towards their career as luck is associated with hardworking and determination.
“I think you have to master the game and do your very best to push harder because you never know when your luck will shine. The more you work hard, the luck comes by itself. Some artists just release one song and it suddenly becomes a hit,”
she said.
