Father arrested for allegedly killing his son at sea

The father of a 15-year old boy has been arrested by the Senegalese police for allegedly killing his son at sea whiles trying to migrate from the African country to Europe.

According to sources, the father had earlier paid a smuggler the amount to the tune of $450 (£340) to smuggle his son to Spain.

The boy, nicknamed Doudou, would have been taken to Italy to enrol in a soccer Academy if he had successfully made it to Spain.

Footnotes surrounding his death also has it that he fell ill and died during the journey and was thrown overboard.

Meanwhile, the Senegalese police have said they have intercepted more than 1,500 migrants in recent days.
