Mother of singer Fantana who also doubles as the member of parliament for Jomoro Dorcas Affo-Toffey has been said to have the Sekondi High Court issuing a bench warrant for her arrest.
According to reports, the arrest comes after she failed to appear before the court for her hearing on having dual citizenship on Monday morning, December 6, 2021.
Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey was said to have had the commercial division of the High Court issuing the warrant for the lawmaker to be arrested for disrespecting the law court.
Presiding Judge Her Ladyship Sedina Agbemeve, speaking about the warrant arrest revealed that the MP failed to show proof of denouncing her Ivorian citizenship when she was standing to be voted as an MP.
Lawyers of the MP has been said to have appealed to the court to quash the orders by the Sekondi High Court judge, Justice Dr Richmond Osei Kyere, arguing that he “wrongly exercised its discretion in ordering the Appellant [Mrs. Affo-Toffey] to produce her certificate of renunciation of Ivorian Citizenship
