News information coming in has revealed that Facebook has changed its company’s name to Meta as they try to rebrand the app again for future projects
The owner of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement today 28 October 2021 as he revealed that the new name is going to represent a future beyond just its troubled social network.
He further added that tho facebook would still remain the company name of Facebook would be what would change to “Meta”.
Zuckerberg further added that the former brand is too limited to be used to symbolize what the company wants to do in the future. The new name and brand will represent Facebook’s apps and its upcoming work on augmented and virtual reality products. The name is meant to “reflect who we are and what we hope to build,” Zuckerberg said.
“Over time, I hope we are seen as a metaverse company.From now on, we’re going to be metaverse first, not Facebook first. I hope that people come to know the Meta brand and the future that we stand for.”
