Many movie directors and some actors including famous local movie director; Mr Bediako has blamed Agya Koo for the collapse of our local movie industry.
The aforementioned movie director didn’t hide behind the curtains to pin the downfall of the once vibrant Kumawood movie industry majorly on legendary actor Agya Koo.
In an interview with Ghpage’s Rashad, the well-versed movie director claimed that Agya Koo contributed about 80% to the fall of the industry which was once a solid force.
Amidst these accusations, one of Kuamwood’s great, Akrobeto, has also firmly put forward a different submission about the real cause of the collapse of Kumawood.
According to Akorbeto, Dumsor was the main cause of the fall of Kumawood and not Agya Koo nor any of his colleagues.
He further went on to add that, movie markers should stop pointing fingers and apportioning blames on innocent people because it will go a long way to dent their hard-earned reputation.
Pressing on his sentiments in the course of an interview on Okay FM, he also argued that after the infamous Dumsor was rectified, telenovelas also taken over our screens making it difficult for the local movies to hit the markets and calm the hearts of Ghanaians one more time
