Ghana’s veep, Dr Mahamamudu Bawumia, has offered a fully-funded educational scholarship to a young pure water seller who gained admission to study Medicine at the University for Development Studies but lacked the financial muscles to see her dream of becoming a doctor to see light.
Dr Bawumia got to know of this brilliant yet less-privileged young girl who has been identified as Shahadu Elham after her distinction WASSCE results went viral on the various social media platforms.
Netizens who chanced on her colourful results pleaded with the general public to help the girl get into the University as her parents couldn’t afford the huge fees.
Succeeding the energetic plea which went in had with her results and admission letter.
The Vice President, Dr Bawumia, was informed by his aides and after consideration topped with a kind heart, he has offered to sponsor her to the University to study Medicine.
