Dr. Asah Asante, a senior political science lecturer at the University of Ghana has gone hard on the leaders of the various political parties for not observing the COVID-19 protocols at their campaigns and rallies.
In a build up towards the elections in December, political parties and their candidates have been organizing rallies, walks, and many other events in their bid to win voters to their side.
Among such candidates are Joe Ghartey, Member of Parliament of Essikado-Ketan constituency who organised a walk and posted videos of a huge crowd in attendance.
In all these events, the people are seen not wearing masks or observing social distancing protocols.
In these days that a Second Wave of COVID-19 is feared to be hitting countries, Dr. Asah Asante has expressed disgust at the ignorance being exhibited by these political parties and their members.
In an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM, He said that the parties must leave an exemplary life.
”If they want to lead, they should lead by example. They should show us they abide by the laws,” He added.
