Award-winning Ghanaian musical twins who perform under the stage name DopeNation has vowed that they will never endorse any political party thus nothing can influence them to campaign or vouch for any presidential candidate in the country.
Speaking in an interview with one of the Takoradi based radio stations over the weekends, the music artists emphatically stated that they would rather go hungry than campaign for any political parties because politicians are big-time lairs who will disgrace them after endorsing their candidature.
DopeNation explained that they represent the masses and endorsing a political party over another defeats their purpose and hinders them from addressing national issues when the need arises.
In their own words;
First and foremost, we don’t do politics, because our fans are from different sides… we’d rather go hungry that to preach a political party, we are doing music for everybody, we don’t want to be on one side
There were a lot of artists who were going in for money to preach for the fact that people had to vote for a political party… the whole vibe is the fact that you put yourself up as an ad for a political party, and now that things are becoming worse, you don’t know whether you should go against the political party or not
