Popular Ghanaian radio presenter and fashionista, Kofi Okyere Darko who popularly known as KOD believes organizers of the Ghana DJ Awards erred as they adjudged DJ Switch as the best DJ in Ghana.
In his view, the talented girl deserved an honorary award and not the best DJ award since that award category has some of the finest DJs like DJ Mic-Smith, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Sly, DJ Aroma and DJ Black to win the overall best DJ award..
In his reaction, KOD disclosed that crowning young DJ, ‘DJ of the Year’ at the just ended Ghana DJ Awards will mount pressure on her.
He stated that she should’ve been given an honorary award to depict her efforts but not “pushing her too much by giving her ‘DJ of the Year’.”
KOD further stated that though DJ Switch works hard and has graced many international platforms, she should have been awarded something similar to motivate her rather than the overall award which will definitely put pressure on her.
“She should have been awarded something like the Black Star award or Future award or something that shows we should look out for her in the future,” KOD said.
He also advised that DJ Switch shouldn’t feel pampered but rather work hard to sustain her legacy and brand.
