Soumitra Chatterjee, a famous Indian filmmaker who tested positive for the deadly corona virus on October 6, has sadly given up the ghost today, Sunday, November 15, as a result of severe complications of the disease.
The news was shared through a statement from a close source.
”We declare with a heavy heart that Soumitra Chattopadhyay (Chatterjee) breathed his last at 12:15 local time at Belle Vue Clinic today (Nov. 15). We pay our homage to his soul,’’.
The Bengali Cinema star’s health is reported to have worsened in the past few days and had to be put on a ventillator but unfortunately, he still could not survive.
“In the last few days, Chatterjee’s condition had deteriorated and he was on a ventilator,’’The report mentioned.
The veteran actor was born in 1935 and died in a clinic in Kolkata.
In his lifetime, he worked together with director Satyajit Ray in fourteen movies.
