Couple holds online wedding with 45 people via video conference on Zoom

A couple found an innovative way to hold their wedding ceremony as planned since coronavirus won’t allow them to come into contact with others and make merry as planned earlier.

The outbreak of the deadly virus has seen many lovers cancel or postpone their weddings until further notice – whenever the virus decides to leave the surface of the earth.

However, this couple proved the world that their happiness cannot be curtailed by the coronavirus as they held their wedding in a virtual space.

They used a video conferencing platform – Zoom- to host 45 people, including family and friends from South Africa, Netherlands, France, and Calgary as witnesses to their wedding ceremony.

This was made known by a tweep with the username @KiyaniBba who is junior sister to the groom. She said; “Today was my big bro’s wedding. Because of the virus, only the bride, groom and their witnesses were allowed in the room. As the official CTO of my family, I suggested that we set up a Zoom so that our relatives and friends could join us. I present you the first Zoom Wedding”

“We had more than 45 people from France, CIV, Netherlands, SA, Calgary, etc. I muted everyone during the ceremony and recorded everything using zoom. People cried during the vows, at the end I unmuted them and all at the same time they applauded and congratulated the newlyweds”
