The Ghana Police Service has reported the arrest of one Bukari Salifu, who has been accused of supplying armed robbers with weapons for their raids.
Bukari Salifu, 65, was apprehended over the weekend after police received information.
Two suspected robbers who were apprehended while attempting to rob vehicles along the Koluedor-Sege-Accra road had described Bukari Salifu as the one who supplies them with firearms for their crimes prior to his detention.
However, instead of directing the cops to the man, the two led the crime-fighting team to a thicket full of more armed thieves.
There, the police came under fire as the suspects attempted to escape,” a press release signed by Acting Director-General of Public Affairs ACP Kwesi Ofori on Monday, September 27 noted.
In the process, the suspected armed robbers were shot and brought to the Police Hospital, where they died.
Joseph Dagodzo and Mujahid Abubakar, alias Sule, are their names. Their bodies have been sent to the mortuary at the Police Hospital.
