Billboard just got Ghanaians laughing, especially those lived and dined with renowned dancehall musician Shatta Wale, as they claimed he is just 20 years old.
Billboard is out with a new new initiative which seeks to recognise African musicians and the countries they represent, dubbed “Billboard Local Heroes“.
Shatta Wale
As such, Billboard profiled all the artistes and entertainment gurus who were recognised in the new category that was sighted yesterday.
Billboard’s profile on Shatta Wale has, however, got many people doubting the credibility of the initiative after the editor wrote that Shatta Wale is 20 years old whiles in reality, he’s 35 years old.
The profile reads:
“Wale’s 2019 album is called Wonder Boy, and the 20-year-old singer-songwriter and actor seems determined to live up to that name. The country’s two biggest political parties have used his songs in campaigns; his 2018 album, Reign, hit No. 6 on Billboard’s Top World Albums chart; and in April, he organized the online Faith Concert to cheer up fellow Ghanaians during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
