SAD! BECE candidate dies after writing four papers

A Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate, Richard Mensah, writing this year’s exam has reportedly died.

The candidate reportedly died on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 after writing his papers on Monday and Tuesday at Apremdo in the Western Region.

His grandmother who confirmed the report in an interview Connect FM said her 19-year-old grandson initially complained of a headache on Monday but managed to write four of his papers on Monday and Tuesday until it became severe.

Richard was rushed to the Jemima Hospital at Kwesimintsim on Wednesday but could not make it.

Richard Mensah was a final year student of the Apowa Methodist Junior High School and was a candidate writing his exam at the St. Mary’s Senior High School Examination Center.
