Ayawaso North constituency chairman of the NDC suspended for breaching party rules

Ahmed Tahiru the Ayawaso North constituency chairman has been suspended by the NDC for going contrary to party laws.

His suspension was meted out to him following the chairman’s allegation that the NDC National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Said Sinare, had plotted to distort the upcoming elections by handing over fire arms to the youth.

Mr. Tahiru seemed to have panicked and reported the issue to the police station and also he presented guns as evidence of the planned violence by Sinare.

The police later invited Alhaji Sinare to aid in further investigation of the matter.

This issue however raised an alarm in the frontiers of the NDC as Tahiru’s actions was a breach of party regulations enshrined in Article 46 (8) of the party’s constitution.

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC Mr. Ade Coker explained that the indefinite suspension of Tahiru was as a result of him failing to conform to party rules in the issue of addressing ones grievances.

“We have structures in the party, if you have any grievances there is a way you go about it in the party, you report officially to the party and the party will investigate. But where we have a constituency chairman taking a whole national vice chairman to the police station without recourse to party intervention, we feel he’s gone too far, and we need to set him aside so that we can investigate the issue and then the right things would be done,” Mr Coker said in a radio interview with Accra based Citi on Thursday evening monitored by Graphic Online.
