The information available to us says one of the ‘Arise Ghana’ demonstrators has lost his eye in the demonstration during a clash with the Ghana police earlier today, June 28.
The man identified as Yiyayi Mensah said he is from Korle Gonno in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
A video of the man in his predicament was shared online.
Meanwhile, the Ghana police have reported that 12 of their officers have been injured and an undisclosed number of their vehicles also damaged by the demonstrators.
The injured officers have been transferred to the police hospital in Accra for further treatment.
The Police described the development as shameful and unacceptable and must be condemned.
