Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, better known by his stage name Amerado, is a Kumasi-based Ghanaian rapper. In Ghana, he became famous for his rap songs in 2018. He was born on February 14, 1995. Not much is known but her parents and siblings because they have done their possible best to keep themselves away from the media.
The multiple award-winning rapper was born and raised in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, in the town of Ejisu. He completed his senior high school education at KNUST Senior High School.
Early career life
Amerado’s music career kicked off in early 2015, when he was he was discovered by music talent hunter Azee Ntwene after placing third in the Solid FM Freestyle Show.
Following his accomplishment at Solid FM’s freestyle show, he went on to form MicBurnerz Music with fellow rapper Strongman Burner who was then an emerging artiste also.
He was invited to perform on Mix Master Garzy’s GH Youth All-Stars to write the official peace song for Ghana’s 2016 general elections.
Active Career years 2017 –
Amerado dropped his debut EP titled Rapmare under the MicBurnerz Music label in November 2017 to announce his presence in the Ghanaian music industry. Some of the songs on EP includes; The Truth, Like A Boss, Diluted Minds etc.
The music project contained 7 songs with only one feature ( Lenzy Vorsah).
He won the hearts of many Ghanaians with his prolific rap style and unprecedented use of metaphors and similies. Amerado’s breakthrough in the local music industry followed after he featured on Sarkodie’s “Biibi bi” all-stars song.
The Biibi ba song featured Lyrical Joe, Tulenkey, Frequency, Kofi Mole, Toy Boi, Yeyo, Amerado, 2 Fyngers, OBKAY and CJ Biggerman and all these acts delivered so well and at a high level.
Amerado has released several street bangers such as Me ho y3, indelible flow, death sentence and the likes.

Amerado has one EP dubbed Rapmare and over 200 singles. He has also featured on over 30 songs.
Awards and Nominations
Amerado has received a total of 21 nominations and bagged 5 out of them. He won rapper of the year (2020) at the One Awards Ghana awards night. He received the same honour the same year at the Ghana Entertainment Choice Awards
In 2018, he won the artist of the year during Kumasi Awards Night.
During Eastern music awards in 2020, he bagged the most influential artiste award.
Networth, Cars and Houses
Amerado has a huge mansion in Kumasi. He also has two cars which are a Toyota Tundra and Kia Saloon car. It is believed that he’s worth around $100,000.
He’s not known for showing off his extravagant life because he enjoys being lowkey with his winnings.
Wife and Kids
Amerado is unmarried and has no kids yet but it is well known that he’s in a deep romantic affair with his childhood girlfriend.
