Akufo-Addo’s message to Fmr. Pres. J.J Rawlings in the book of condolence causes confusion among the NDC

The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid a visit to the family of the late fmr. Pres. Jerry John Rawlings, and as custom demands penned down his message in the book of condolence.

24-hours after the demise of the first president of the 4th Republic, President Akufo-Addo has led an entourage of key members of his administration to former President Rawlings’ house at Ridge.

Upon arrival, the president had to pen down his message of condolence to the former president of Ghana.

The message read; “Your role in the establishment and development of the 4th Republic, the most enduring Republic of our history, is truly exceptional. Ghanaians appreciate your leadership of our nation, and will remember you accordingly. For myself, I appreciate very much your friendship.
Comrade, fair well, and rest peacefully in the bosom of the Almighty.

However, the first gentleman’s message to his good old friend, J.J Rawlings has caused a stir on social media, especially among the NDC.

Some members of the NDC on social media have slammed the family of the late president for rushing to the NPP President, Nana Addo for aid.

See the reaction of NDC’s Stephen Atubiga who is peeved about the fact that Nana Addo and his entourage were the first persons to visit the bereaved family.
