Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture has disclosed that President Akufo Addo‘s planting for Food and jobs initiative has so far resulted in the creation of two million jobs.
He further stressed that the two million employment created are distributed over the program’s five modules.
He stated this during a news conference in Accra where he was praising the success of the government’s effort.
He is reported to have said;
I don’t have the figures for each module now but I know that estimate as of 2020 we had created over 2million jobs from the five modules that we have been operating
Planting for Food and Jobs is the government’s flagship agricultural campaign, which has five (5) implementation elements.
The first module, PFJ (Crops), aims to increase food security by ensuring the timely availability of certain food crops on the market, as well as creating jobs.
On April 19, 2017, H. E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo officially launched this social intention project in Goaso.
