Adeoye Owolewa, a Nigerian living in the United States has been elected into the US House of representatives making him the first to achieve that.
Owolewa, 31, is a PhD Pharmacy holder from the NorthEastern University in Boston. He contested on the ticket of the Democratic Party for Washington DC and has won.
Owolewa’s father is from Kwara State while his mother is from Oyo state. So this makes him the first ever Nigerian to be voted for and giving the opportunity to be in the Congress of the United States.
