Ghanaian actor, entrepreneur, philanthropist and politician who is currently aspiring to elected as the member parliament for the Ayawaso West Wouguon consistency, John Dumelo has hinted that he will push for rent advance to be cancelled should in case he wins the Parliamentary elections and goes into parliament, Gossips24.com reports.
According to John Dumelo, the Rent Control Act 220 should be amended so that payment of rent can be scheduled to be paid on a monthly basis so as to ease pressure on tenants who find it difficult to raise money for 2-3 years advance payment.
Resorting to his Twitter page to make this his particular intention known, he tweeted ;
One of the first things I will push when I get to Parliament is to make sure we amend Rent Control Act 220. Tenants should pay their rent on a monthly basis. It’s absurd to pay 2-3 years rent advance. How can the youth survive with this? How can they start businesses like this
John Dumelo is hoping to unseat Mad Lydia Alhassan who is the incumbent MP of the Ayawaso West Wouguon Constituency after 7th December’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections on the ticket of the NDC political Party.
