John Dumelo warns NPP over violence against NDC members in ongoing voters registration exercise

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has accused the Member of Parliament for the area, Madam Lydia Alhassan, of doing little whilst alleged violent acts are being carried out against members and sympathizers of the NDC.

Earlier today, John Dumelo took to social media to reveal how some men in hoodies constantly assaulted his agents on the Legon campus.

According to John Dumelo, despite the persistent reports of physical abuse meted out to the registration agents, sympathizers of the NDC, observers and innocent persons perceived to be his supporters , Hon. Lydia Alhassan has remained indifferent.

John Dumelo also alleged that although official complaints have been lodged with the Police, it has received no response thus far with regards to bringing perpetrators to book.

In a statement issued by the spokespersons for the John Dumelo for MP 2020 campaign, Benjamin Madugu Avornyotse, they reminded Madam Alhassan of her duty to promote peace and serenity in the constituency.

The John Dumelo for MP 2020 Campaign team wishes to serve notice to the sitting MP – Madam Lydia Alhassan, that it is her duty to promote peace and serenity in the constituency…should she continue to remain indifferent to the concerns raised that she has been made aware of severally, alternative reliefs within the confines of our laws will be sought by this Campaign team to ensure protection of all constituents from acts of thuggery and hooliganism,” part of the statement read.
