Many will break the lockdown rules for the love of Waakye, but hey.. this won’t last for months, the lockdown is just for two weeks, and if you should be arrested for anything at all, it shouldn’t be waakye.
But if you think this will be an issue, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has advised that you enjoy the waakye in your hood.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has urged residents in the areas under lockdown to acquire all their essential materials within their neighbourhood.
Speaking on JOY NEWS hours before the 14 days lockdown on Sunday, he said although citizens could go out only to get essential items, traversing long distances to get them to put commuters at risk of contracting the dreadful coronavirus.
“We are not in ordinary times so try and like the waakye in your area. We do not want people to be using these exceptions to be moving from Dansoman to Tema,” he told host Emefa Apawu.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah further indicated that the Security Service will be on the alert to ensure the fulfilment of the Presidents directive.
“As much as possible it is in your own interest to stay at home, so if for some reason you have to step out let it be in the neighbourhood you live in not more than your electoral area.”
