Overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has come out to reveal that all his electric appliances have been destroyed by the recent dumsor that has hit Kumasi.
Otumfuo made this revelation during a visit by Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh, together with the management of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Volta River Authority (VRA) paid a courtesy call on him on Wednesday, 1 December 2021.
Speaking during the meeting he revealed that the recent power outages have led to a lot of people losing thousands of cedis when the light goes off as well as many also having their electric appliances getting spoilt as well.
He further went ahead to state that the minister along with its partners GRIDCo and ECG should do their best to resolve the issues since the development of the nation depends on electricity.
