“Nana Addo hasn’t paid our allowances for the past 6 months” – Nursing and trainee teachers cry for help

In 2014, the government of former president John Mahama cancelled the payment of all allowances, including nursing trainees’.

The scrapping of the allowances was met with grave disapproval, assuming a key weapon of the Akufo-Addo 2016 campaign.

However, it appears that Nana Addo is tired of paying the allowances because, for the past 6 months, students of the various training colleges haven’t received a dime.

Presently, the disappointed students are trending the hashtag #PayAllawaArrears on social media to demand that their allowances must be paid to them as soon as possible because they can’t bear the financial hardships they are going through.

The government is yet to react to the cries if these students who are now financially handicapped.
