Man gets slapped with 70 years jail term for raping his ex-girlfriend

A South African rapist has been sentenced to 70 years jail term for raping his ex-girlfriend.

According to sources, Keatlhotse Mothowakae, 25, was charged for raping his ex-girlfriend in 2015 and 2016. His jail term is to be exercised at the Mothibistad Regional Court in Kimberley, Northern Cape. 

 

According to the victim, she was walking from church to the house, when Keatlhotse Mothowakae kidnapped her to forcefully penetrate into her genitals. 

 

She also revealed that Keatlhotse Mothowaka threatened to kill her with scissors after he finished rapping her.

 

 

The Northern Cape Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Phiwe Mnguni welcomed the 70 years jail term handed down to the rapist.

 

Major Mnguni commended the investigating officers, Captain Caren Nel and Sergeant Kenalemang Babeile, for good investigative work.

 

He also applauded the National Prosecuting Authority and Department of Justice for removing the rapist for life from society.

 

Keatlhotse sentence was broken down into four different counts which are detailed below;

 

Count 1: Rape 20 years imprisonment

Count 2: Rape 20 years imprisonment

Count 3: Rape 20 years imprisonment

Count 4: Rape 10 years imprisonment

 

Keatlhotse Mothowaka name will be inked in the National Register for Sex Offenders. He is also declared unfit to legally acquire a firearm.
