Electoral Commission clears 12 out of 17 to contest December 7 presidential elections

Chairperson for the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), Madam Jean Mensah has officially announced the disqualification of five flagbearers clearing 12 others for the 2020 December 7 presidential elections.

The five who have been disqualified are in the person of Kwesi Addai Odike, Kofi Koranteng, Kofi Game, Kwesi Busumbru, and Nana Agyenim Boateng.

The Chair of the EC, Jean Mensa said in a media briefing on Monday, October 19, 2020, that there were issues with the forms of the disqualified persons.

She further noted that the Commission will report those that centre on criminality to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.

In all, 12 aspirants were qualified to contest the elections.
