It can be recalled that during 2019’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, accomplished old-hand Highlife musician, Abrante Amakye Dede, bestowed the Highlife crown unto Kuami Eugene.

After a year and some month which this infamous incident happened, veteran music producer and artist manager who groomed the likes of Lord Kenya, Aberewa Nana and a lot more under his umbrella has given to rise to a new conversation piece on this dead-issue.
According to uncle Zapp, what Amakye Dede did was common sense defying with the rational that, he, Amakye Dede used to call himself the King OF Highlife music so handing over his crown to Kuami Eugene whiles he’s till alive doesn;t sit well with him.
He said;
How can you crown Kuami Eugene as King of Highlife whiles the King is still alive. Even you who crowned him King, is he (Kuami Eugene) better than you)? What is wrong with you? How can you go and take your throne and go and give it to somebody”?
He further went on to submit that Amakye Dede should have crowned Kuami Eugene as the Prince of Highlife and not the genre’s king.
