Ghanaian rapper and UpTown Energy frontliner, Yaa Pono has explained why his songs are often full of profanity.
Yaa Pono, has since the 80’s been known to be a rapper whose songs are never friendly to kids as they are so filled with profane words.
Though not radio friendly, one would wonder why the Tema-based rapper keeps on recording songs with profane lyrics.
Speaking in interview with Happy FM’s DJ Adviser on the Ayekoo After Drive Show, the ‘Gbee Nabu’ crooner noted that it’s fun to use profane lyrics in songs.
He said “Music is all about fun. Profanity is also fun. Sometimes, you must polish your profanity and use it in music”.
The rapper is set to release a new album dubbed “Up Next Collection” which according to him will be released unexpectedly before December this year.
