Wizkid becomes first Nigerian artist to be nominated for NACCP Image Award

West African superstar, Wizkid Ayo has been nominated for an NACCP image award and he is the first Nigerian artiste to enter the nominations books of the award scheme.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award is an award to honor outstanding performances in film, television, music, and literature and “Brown Skin Girl” off Beyonce’s “The Gift” album has been nominated for “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration” at the 2020 edition.

Founded 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s first and largest grassroots–based civil rights organization. Over 2,000 volunteer-run branches nationwide.

Wizkid was nominated alongside other top-notch artistes like Drake, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, J Cole, and Miguel.

The nomination alone is a great achievement for the artiste. Also, if he wins, he would be the first Nigerian artiste to win the prestigious award.
