Ghanaian afro-dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known in showbiz as Stonebwoy, has questioned who benefits from all these numerous award schemes – artistes or organisers?

Stonebwoy cannot fathom why artistes who have worked hard would be required to ask their fans to vote just to be awarded.

According to the dancehall artiste in a post sighted by Gossisp24.com, organisers of award schemes take advantage of the fan-base of artistes who are nominated to advertise their events.

He tweeted; ” Q:-Why Do Fans Have to Pay To Vote On Top Of Data Already Paid For To Enable Their Favorite Artiste Win An Award and Also Pay To Attend The Awards? And Why Are Artistes Obliged To Use Their Own mileage To Campaign For the Awards On Top. Who Actually Gains Organizers or artistes? “

The Ololo singer’s tweet comes just few days after he won nothing at the just ended Ghana Music Awards UK.

According to an organiser of the award scheme, the dancehall artiste lost because he didn’t ask his fans and followers to vote for him.

He went on to say Stone is filled with pride and ego, and that is why the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Medikal won on the night.

Many think Stone’s rants are signs of bitterness and nothing more.
