Uganda Court drops all charges against Omah Lay and Tems

A magistrate court in Uganda has dropped all charges leveled against Nigerian musicians, Omah Lay and Tems.

As reported earlier by Gossips24.com, the two Nigerian singers were charged to court on charges of negligently doing acts likely to spread and infectious diseases, coronavirus.

Uganda Police Force tweet read; “The Nigerian trio of Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi have been charged to court in Makindye on charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act. The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond, were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.” the tweet reads.

Several celebrities including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Temi Otedola, Don Jazzy weighed in on the arrest of the duo and they have called on the government to intervene in the situation before it gets out of hand.

In about 24 hours after the news went viral, the court after proceedings, came out with a release order which is circulating on social media, stating that all charges against them (Omah Lay and Tems) have been dropped.
