Tracy Sarkcess finally explains why Sarkodie will not sign a deal with a foreign label

Wife of award-winning rapper, Sarkodie – Tracy Sarkcess, has revealed the main reason why her husband is not in a haste to sign a deal with a foreign label.

Today, Tracy Sarkcess finally spilled the bean on why her husband has not bothered to contact or come in agreement with any foreign label to push his works.

There have been several instances where Sarknatives have called on Sarkodie to sign a distribution deal with a foreign label in order to get his works in the international market.

Well, the conversation was brought up again on twitter, but according to Tracy, those kinds of deals can cause huge damage in the future.

She revealed one can lose the rights and a very large portion of his/her own streaming revenue if his/her album/music is distributed by a major record label.

A fan tweeted; “The only thing we for tell @sarkodie to do is to let International label to distribute his works for the International market, like what Island records did to party and bullshit, Sony/dice did to Highest album. We for enter that market “

She replied; “You loose the rights and a very large portion of your own streaming revenue if your album/music is distributed by a major record label.”

She continued; “So you got ask yourself, is it worth it to be paid off a lump sum of money at once and then the label “eats” from your work for eternity or do it yourself and actually earn from your shows and streams in for the rest of your life. “

“All the big artists you see are paid off for their work which is good… but what is 1 million or even 10million dollars worth in 10yrs? Simple math… A million for a yr is ca. 83k a month and a 10mill in 10yrs is a million a year… what shows you can’t even that money &…”
