There Is No Dancehall Artiste In Ghana – Kelvyn Boy ‘spits’ on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

Call it arrogance or whatever, but Kelvyn Boy has tried to be himself and projecting Afrobeat in most of his recent interviews.

According to the first born of Burniton Music Group, there is no dancehall artiste in Ghana.

Kelvyn Boy stated, “Beyoncé came to Africa and she did Afrobeat with Shatta Wale. I feel like Afrobeat is what we have to accept as ours. We are not recognised outside with those genres otherwise Beyoncé would’ve gone to Jamaica for a Dancehall act.”

Per his analogy, there is no artiste who does pure dancehall artiste in Ghana as there’s no way a Ghanaian can do the genre under discussion better than the Jamaicans.

Talking about his boss Stonebwoy on Adom FM‘s Work & Happiness show, Kelvyn Boy said even him doesn’t qualify per his knowledge.

He explained that, “it can never be Dancehall if you are from here. There is no one going strictly by that. The moment you speak Twi, it is not Dancehall anymore rather Afro-Dancehall.
