Yesterday, the ministry of finance took to its official website to announce the IMF team coming into the country today to commence meeting with the government on Wednesday.

Accra, Monday 4th July, 2022- Subsequent to the directive by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Ministry of Finance, hereby announces the commencement of engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF or the Fund) to support Ghana’s economic program.
Pursuant to this, a delegation from the Fund is scheduled to arrive in Accra on Tuesday 5th July, 2022, to commence in-person meetings with the Government of Ghana on Wednesday 6th July, 2022.
The Ministry further takes this opportunity to assure Ghanaians of the Government’s commitment to successfully negotiate a program with the IMF in the coming months, in support of Ghana’s economic recovery. END
However, in a tweet this very morning by radio and TV host, Caroline Sampson, the IMf team has arrived in Ghana as discussed by the Ministy of Finance.
The IMF team has arrived Ghana. They arrived few minutes ago. They were welcomed by the IMF team in Ghana who will be escorting them to their hotel, Caroline wrote.
