Stonebwoy Showed Interest But Shatta Wale Didn’t – Charter House Clarifies

Since the release of the final nominess for the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs 22) there have been a lot controversies around the list.

Some Ghanaian musicians and celebs have shown their disappointment over some musicians being snub in certain categories while some also feel they deserve to be in some categories.

Another controversy that has prompted the Charter House to come out with a response is the fact that Stonebwoy was selected for Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year and Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of The Year, while Shatta Wale was not included.

Some people felt they bit biased after the Dancehall musicians were banned from the VGMAs in 2018 following their stage disturbance.

In 2021, the organizers of the VGMAs finally lifted the ban on both artists however, they would have to submit or show interest before they got featured in any of the awards categories.

In an interview, the Public Relations Officer for Charter House said Stonebwoy showed interest and gave them permission to feature his art in the awards scheme, however Shatta Wale on the other didn’t want to join.
