“I didn’t know the song was a cover” – Stonebwoy denies Mr Drew on radio

Dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, alias Stonebwoy has finally cleared the air on the fuss around Mr Drew’s “Eat” song which was a clear copy-cat of Rotimi’s “Love Riddim”.

Mr Drew has been making headlines since Saturday for allegedly stealing a song that belongs to Nigerian actor cum singer, Rotimi, dubbed “Love Riddim”.

Apparently Drew, signed unto Highly Spiritual Music, featured Stonebwoy on the copied work dubbed “Eat” which took over the waves after it was released.

In series of interviews with Zionfelix and the latest one with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm’s DayBreakHitz, the “Dw3” hit singer, Drew, averred that Stone knew very well that the song was a cover but went ahead to drop a verse to show his support.

However, few minutes into the Show, Stonebwoy called in to clear the air and set the records straight. He stated that he did not know anything about the song being a cover until his kid brother prompted him when he was recording his verse at home.

He said he was optimistic that Highly Spiritual Music had gone through the needed formalities to get the rights they needed to do the cover.

In his view, he did them a favour by jumping on the song though he wasn’t called on but clearly did it out of love hence feels disturbed because his name is being roped into the who fracas as though he is part of the problem.
