South Dayi MP Threatens Court Action If Domelovo Is Audited

Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, MP for the South Dayi Constituency has hinted of going to court if Mr. Domelovo is audited.

Also a member of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs committee of Parliament, Mr. Dafeamekpor says that until parliament clears government, government does not have the right to audit Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelovo. He added that government can only question the spending of the Auditor General but not audit him.

He made these revelations while speaking on ‘Ade Akye Abia’ programme on Okay FM.  He referred to article 187 (15) of the 1992 constitution to back his case.

He threatened;”If they go ahead to do it, I will be left with no other choice than to head to the Supreme Court for a proper interpretation to be done about the provision in the constitution,”

This follows the action taken by the Audit Service Board that has employed  K&A Accounting Services, a private firm to audit the foreign travels of the Auditor-General and other top management staff of his office.

Mr. Domelevo has written in relation to the subject to Parliament but the process is still ongoing.
