Soldier allegedly shoots man to death for breaking lockdown rule

A soldier in Delta State has allegedly gunned down a man for defying lockdown rule.

The young man and father of two, identified as Joseph Pessu, was reportedly gunned down along the Ugbuwangue axis of the NPA Expressway, Warri, Delta State.

Details as to why the victim was shot dead remained sketchy at the time of this report.

However, it was learnt that the deceased was stopped at a checkpoint by a soldier but refused and made an attempt to run away.

He was chased by the soldiers who shot him dead in the process.

The remains of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue at the time of filing this report.
