Six Collapsed Church Building Victims Treated and Discharged

Six Victims of the collapsed church building according to reports have been treated and discharged from the Akim Oda Government Hospital.

Giving updates to the Ghana News Agency, Administrator of the hospital, Mr Kwame Ampadu-Agyei, said that the victims sent to the hospital were about 24. Sadly, 15 have died and six have been treated and discharged.

In the wave of this good news however, efforts are still ongoing to save victims who are said to be trapped under the building. The rescuers are made up of the Ambulance Service, Military, Ghana National Fire Service, Police and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

According to Mr Amo Lartey, Operations Director of NADMO, additional excavators were going to be provided by the National security to speed up the process.

Meanwhile, the Pastor of the collapsed church, Prophet Akoa Isaac says that the incident is an unfortunate one. He added that 52 church members had gathered there to pray on the day of the tragedy.
