Senior High School To Be Made 6 Years- Full Details

Minister of Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has come out to reveal that the Government of Ghana is planning on changing the senior high school duration from 3 to 6 years.

According to reports by the Education Minister, the government seeks to focus on the revamping of STEM education as he revealed that it’s part of efforts to transform secondary education in Ghana with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at the centre.

He further went ahead to reveal that the government would partner with various stakeholders including private sector operators to provide the much-needed infrastructure like laboratories, workshops, and lecture rooms for STEM-based institutions.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum further added that the government had already finished working on all their plans for the STEM initiative and would soon have a  decrease from 13,000 to 2,500.

Speaking during a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, December 14th the minister revealed that the new initiative would be beginning in 2023.
