It is every rapper or musician’s dream to be cited or acknowledged by Grammy Awards which is known as the highest music awarding body in the world.

A Grammy Award, or Grammy, is an award presented by The Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry. The trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.

The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest.

The only Ghanaians who been acknowledged are Fuse ODG, Killbeatz, Rocky Dawuni and Stonebwoy.

In a latest development, Ghana’s most celebrated and decorated rapper, Sarkodie is known to have an eye on the Grammys like every rapper in the world and he has been featured on their online portal.

For the first time ever, the rapper’s name has appeared on the official website of the awarding body.

Sarkodie’s name appeared on their portal for the first time on August 9, 2019. His name popped up in a feature article about Kenyan afro-pop star Victoria Kimani.

The article, labelled “Afropop Queen Victoria Kimani Is Kenya’s Best Kept Secret”, spoke about their collaboration, titled “Wash It”.

Though it’s good news, this doesn’t mean Sarkodie is going to win a grammy, not saying its not possible, but he was featured in another’s article, not his own article.

Plus, Sarkodie isn’t the only Ghana musician who has had a mention on the Grammys website.
