Kumawood giant and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Miracle Films, Mr Samuel Nyamekye has taken us back the lane to the genesis of legendary Mercy Aseidu’s acting career.
As narrated by the veteran movie producer and director, Mr Jackson K Bentum was the first person whorecommended Mercy Asiedu to him when they were about to shoot the ‘Asoreba’ movie.
Mr Nyamekye additionally disclosed that the woman who was supposed to play Mercy Asiedu’s role in the movie asked for an increment of her salary after she got to know of Nana Ama McBrown’s own.
Since he was not ready to pay for the amount the woman was demanding for, he begged Mercy Aseidu to replace the woman after agreeing on 30 cedis payment.
Though it was her first movie, he was happy about how Mercy Asiedu delivered.
According to him, remarkable performance opened the flood gates of different heavy contracts for her which made her become a household name in the Kumawood industry following her role in ‘Asoreba’.
He added that most actors/actresses who focused on money at the early stages couldn’t make it big as they expected.
