Sammy Gyamfi in trouble for politicizing ‘George Floyd’s death’ via a cartoon tweet

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, is currently on a blast as some Ghanaians jumped on his timeline on social media to rain insults on him.

The fine gentleman who has recently earned the love of some Ghanaians for his intelligence and eloquence has been put on the drawing board of insults as Ghanaians embed some sense in him for making a senseless post on social media.

Perhaps the timing was bad, but the recent tweet from Sammy Gyamfi on the micro-blogging platform was the worst we have seen so far.

The celebrated politician shared a cartoon of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Jean Mensa suffocating a Ghanaian with the caption “I can’t breathe”, depicting and recalling the sad circumstance whic led to George Floyd’s death.

The cartoon, according to Sammy, is to suggest that the President and the Electoral Commissioner are suffocating Ghanaians to death with the impending new Voters Register.

In a massive outpour of anger, Twitter users descended on him with some describing him as insensitive to the plight of Mr. Floyd.

Other tweeps called on Twitter to immediately delete his tweet as it is shameful and does not speak well of a politician.

  1. Nana Yaw Adepa Jesus says

Where’s this guy Sammy Gyamfi’s common sense?, at your youthful age you have lost your common sense then I don’t know what would happen when he gets into his old. This guy has made politics ugly and not interested anymore. Very foolish guy I pity for his parents for they have wasted their sperms. Nkwasiasemkwa
