Ghana Meets Naija has become an annual tradition that determines which country wins the musical bragging rights for the entire year, last year battle was on the military front wherein the end the two countries were united by music and no one was declared the winner. Nine years now, musicians who have made their names in the in both Ghana and Nigeria have climbed the stage to entertain thousands of fans from all walks of life mainly, West African neighbours.
This year is no different as the final line for the showdown was unveiled on May 3 , 2019 at Tang Palace Event Centre, Accra. The theme for this year is taking from the football pitch where artists from these two countries will play to win once and for all, there won’t be room for complacency only to win and win well.
The pairing line includes Patapaa and Teni, Medikal and Wande Coal, R2Bees and Victor AD, this list left a lot of the attendees and key members of the entertainment industry in shock with majority pin-pointing R2Bees and Victor AD pairing as inappropriate. Taking into consideration the track records of R2Bees, what they have done in the music industry, pairing them with Victor AD who just came into the game last year with a little over two hit songs isn’t right.
But, organizers have their own reasons for the pairings, over the years the show has suffered a few verbal assaults from music lovers whose favourite act wasn’t included in the list. This year, the attention is on R2Bees and Victor AD, how will the Nigerian go unto the pitch to face the kings of the field.
