President Buhari Appointed as the Ambassador of Indian App, Koo

Months after the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria, President Muhamadu Buhari has been appointed as the ambassador for the Indian owned social media app named Koo.

Recall that just two days after President Muhammadu Buhari’s inflammatory tweet threatening to punish “troublemakers” in the country’s South-East region was removed from Twitter, the country’s Information Minister announced the suspension of Twitter’s activities in Nigeria.

As senior government officials and pro-government accounts ceased tweeting and migrated to Koo, Koo’s popularity skyrocketed.

The front page of Koo features an advertisement that has Buhari as the app’s face in Nigeria.

This development has sparked outrage on the internet.
