Elections 2020: Police dismisses claims that a thug was shot dead for trying to steal a ballot box

Ghana Police has dismissed reports that one person has been shot dead after attempting to snatch a ballot box at the Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region

Speakinh with TV3 Ghana, the Central Regional Police Command PRO, DSP Irene Oppong, such an incident did not happen.

There is no shooting incidence at Awutu Senya West.

The information we, that is Bawgiase Police, had was that there was a mob attack at Obrakyere, a community within Awutu Senya West on a young man.

So the Police proceeded there and saw a young man in a pool of blood but then what we gathered around didn’t point to the fact that he made an attempt to snatch a ballot box and he was shot, there was no gun wounds. They used object that we saw around him.
