Just In: Police bans NDC from demonstrating in Accra between now and January 10, 2021

Ghana Police Service has dropped a press release statement which confirms that the security unit has secured a restraining order against the NDC from embarking on any more protests and demonstrations in Accra between now and January 10, 2021.

This unanticipated development follows after the NDC had notified it of plans to hold daily protests. According to the police, the request cannot be met because of “ongoing post-election and multifaceted security operations for the festive season and beyond”.

In other news, the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu 10 other NDC parliamentarians have been sued by the state.

They will be enduring the full weight of the law for embarking on a march to the office of the Electoral Commission which in contravention of the Public Order Act.
