“Please Can We Stop” – AKA pleads after Burna Boy threatened to beat him

Renowned South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes known professionally as AKA, has pleaded with South Africans and Nigerians to stop attacking each other.

African celebrities are currently commenting on the rise of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

These xenophobic attacks were mostly targeted towards black owned businesses specifically Nigerian businesses operating in South Africa.

It is the view of some South Africans that foreign nationals have taken over their jobs and economy it is their strong opion that driving them away, would help regain their jobs and economy.

They are also of the opinion that most sex trafficking rings, drug businesses and diamond smuggling operations are being run by Nigerians hence their decision to loot, burn and destroy properties belonging to Nigerians not regarding if they are actually involved in the above mentioned acts.

According to many nigerians, AKA’s tweets after South Africa lost to Nigeria in the 2019 AFCON seems to have fueled the attacks.

AKA was lambasted by Burna Boy seems to be worried about the way with which things have turned out in the last few hours. In the turn of events, Nigerians have also started attacking South African business in Nigeria.

The South African rapper seems to have regretted for making such comments on social media.

AKA showed how frustrated he was in a recent tweet where he urged both countries to stop these attacks stating that Africa needs everybody.

He tweeted; ” PLEASE!!! Can we STOP. We are going to make things worse for everybody on both sides. We need each other!
… please. Can we stop. We are supposed to be leading our people. “
